My Project
My students are bright, creative, and eager to explore hands-on learning experiences. They thrive when given the opportunity to merge technology with creativity. Many of them are visual and kinesthetic learners who benefit from engaging, project-based activities that allow them to express themselves while learning real-world STEM concepts.
This project will give students the unique opportunity to explore wearable technology through fashion and design using a Cricut machine.
With the Cricut, students will create custom designs iron-on vinyl graphics, stencils, or fabric shapes to apply to shirts, tote bags, or accessories.
Students will learn the basics of circuitry (conductors, insulators, series vs. parallel circuits), how to apply that knowledge practically, and how technology can be part of self-expression. This project will enhance their understanding of engineering, design thinking, and real-world applications of science and technology in fashion and product development.
By the end of the unit, students will have designed, built, and modeled their own wearable creations and they’ll leave with new confidence in STEM and creative problem-solving.
