Engineering Classroom Security

Help me give my students a Zmodo security camera to help monitor the classroom security.

My Students

My students come from low income backgrounds. They do not have the opportunity to experience very much technology outside of the classroom. I have made it a goal of mine to introduce as much technology as possible to them so they may have a well-rounded education prior to entering the real world as young adults.

Our school is a community that serves many military families from the Little Rock Air Force base.

We try to tie in how engineers have a role to play in the military as well as civilian life. This gives my students the ability to see how engineering could help them later in life even if they chose to follow in their parents' footsteps.

My students love hands-on activities and projects. About 90% of my class is project-based learning. This creates enthusiasm in the classroom and allows students to learn through experiences and not just direct instruction.

My Project

My students are in need of 2 Zmodo security cameras to help our classroom be more secure and decrease the amount of stolen or damaged material in the classroom. In engineering and robotics there is a lot of free range and students working in groups. This creates opportunity for some students to steal or damage robotics materials. We hope that having these devices will decrease the amount of theft.

We also hope to use the electric drill to mount the cameras as well as use it to build future projects.

We need magnets for a motors unit that we will be doing in the near future.
