Engineering and Design of Eco-Friendly Hydroponics/Compost System - Pt.4
Help me give my students the proper materials and equipment to build the hydroponic system.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Lober's classroom raised $379

My Project
To continue in our venture of creating a hydroponics system accessible to our school and neighborhood, we need additional hardware, tools, specific clothing, and pieces for the teachers and students involved in building and maintaining our hydroponics system.
Due to part of this project happening outside, the two teachers mentoring the project require proper equipment to build and operate the hydroponic systems.
In addition, we require rockwool and other soil-less mediums to hold the plants in. We also require a variety of seeds for the students to grow numerous types of plants. In addition, we need the cups required to place inside the hydroponics system for it to be held up.
As part of our Carbon-Neutral Goals and Sustainability-Centered Curriculum, we are striving to educate the students on how to build and maintain a hydroponics system for themselves and the community surrounding us.
With classes all day filled with hands-on and visual learners, what better way to teach the plant unit than by implementing a hands-on unit that entails planting and caring for hydroponics and compost systems?
Every bit will help my students vastly improve our school's involvement in climate-change education through the use of engineering and technology.
On top of being a part of the solution where we develop sustainable forms of gardening, this is a way for my students to give back to the community that surrounds our school. There is no better service project than beautifying our footprint in the neighborhood.
