Engineering and Design of Eco-Friendly Hydroponics/Compost System - Pt.3
Help me give my students a ladder, solar charger, painting rocks and other tools required to build our hydroponics/compost system.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Lober's classroom raised $776

My Project
To continue in our venture of creating a hydroponics system accessible to our school and neighborhood, we need additional hardware, tools, specific clothing, and pieces for the teachers and students involved in building and maintaining our hydroponics system.
Due to part of this project happening outside, the two teachers mentoring the project require proper gloves, ladders, and solar chargers to operate the hydroponic system as it is being built.
In addition, we need head lamps due to the lack of sunlight through the winter. We also are carrying most of our tools with us, which means we require a specific type of bag to keep it handy at all times. This part of the project is being set up by the main educators before the students are involved with building the actual hydroponic/compost system for safety concerns and reassurance of structural integrity.
As part of our Carbon-Neutral Goals and Sustainability-Centered Curriculum, we are striving to educate the students on how to build and maintain a hydroponics system for themselves and the community surrounding us.
With classes all day filled with hands-on and visual learners, what better way to teach the plant unit than by implementing a hands-on unit that entails planting and caring for hydroponics and compost systems?
Every bit will help my students vastly improve our school's involvement in climate-change education through the use of engineering and technology.
On top of being a part of the solution where we develop sustainable forms of gardening, this is a way for my students to give back to the community that surrounds our school. There is no better service project than beautifying our footprint in the neighborhood.
