This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students need your help to experience hands-on lessons focusing on engineering and data visualization using Arduino Microcontroller kits. I work in an equity school meaning that more than 50% of the school population consists of minorities and more than 50% come from low-income families. This project will give them access to lessons they would not normally be able to complete.

As an equity school, Arduino Microcontroller kits, are very difficult to finance with the school budget.

We need your help to bring these 21st century skills and lessons to these students.

Microsoft has a curriculum that integrates with the Arduino Microcontroller kits. The curriculum contains 24 longer lessons and multiple shorter activities that all relate to real-life problems. Not only will the project give students a fun way to learn new skills, but it may spark a student's interest in an engineering career. Students will work in small groups, and different classes will use them at different times during the school year in order to increase the number of students who will have access to the materials.
