Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach STEM at a Title 1 school in central Las Vegas. The 600 students that makeup our school come from variety of different cultures and many are learning English as a second language. What makes teaching STEM so enjoyable at my school is the ability to give students opportunities they would not receive outside of the STEM room. A lot of students don't have access to LEGO or computers at home. Their time in my class is hands on and engaging.

These LEGO kits will help students communicate with peers and use critical thinking while working through challenges.

Allowing students to discover their creativity by creating fun and collaborative lessons motivates me to become a better teacher each day.
