Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My 8th grade students are excited to participate in our annual science fair, and these basic but essential supplies will help bring their projects to life. Items like pencils, rulers, translators, and organizers may seem simple, but they make a big difference in helping students plan, carry out, and present their investigations. Translators will help my English Language Learners better understand directions and express their ideas clearly. Organizers will allow students to keep their research, data, and materials in one place, building important time management and organizational skills.

The goal of this project is to provide every student—regardless of language or background—with the tools they need to fully participate in the science fair.

With these materials, students will not only explore scientific concepts hands-on, but also gain confidence in presenting their ideas. This experience supports key skills like communication, collaboration, and critical thinking, which will benefit them far beyond the classroom.

What makes my students special is their excitement, resilience, and creativity. Many come from diverse backgrounds and face challenges, but they show up every day ready to learn, explore, and try something new. The science fair is a highlight of the year, and with your support, they’ll be able to dive into their projects with the materials they need to succeed—and feel proud of what they accomplish.
