My Project

My school is a specialized therapeutic school that provides individualized education and a variety of support services for students identified as emotionally and behaviorally disabled. Because of the disabilities of our students, engagement and motivation is the key to their academic success. Sometimes a paper and pencil is not going to do it. The use of an iPad will allow an opportunity for our students to engage with technology in a motivating and creative way that better meets their diverse needs and will truly make a difference in their learning.

I have the unique opportunity to work with all of our students from grades 1-12 and having iPads will provide endless resources in the areas of science, technology, and math that can be tailored to different grades, levels, and abilities.

I would like to have all of our students have the opportunity to build on STEAM challenges, learning games, puzzles, and creative thinking opportunites that embed mathematical standards and real-world connections in a fun and motivating way. There are hundreds of programs, apps, and activities that an iPad can help bring to life for our students.
