This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very diverse and high-poverty school district. A lot of my students do not have the joys of first world technologies at home because of the area they live in. These students have to bide their time by staying active, making them very wiggly within the classroom.

Since my students live in a world where technology has become a constant necessity, the need for stimulants to keep them engaged within our classroom are in high-demand.

I want to bring flexible seating to my classroom to better engage my students during the school day.

My Project

All of my students argue over the little bit of flexible seating I do have within my classroom. It is a constant battle everyday to be able to accommodate every student's needs to get their wiggles out, which interferes with their learning. I have spent much of my own money trying to acquire items for my classroom to help keep my students engaged. I need to acquire more learning items for my students, but need the help of donors to make that happen.

These items that I would like for my classroom will help my students to stay focused, stop arguing, and engage learning.

This will give my students a wider range of options to choose from, while also giving those options to all students. My student will be able to block out noise from other students while they work using the headphones, be able to have a sturdy surface to use while working around the room with the clipboards, and comfortable seating to keep them busy with the floor cushions, wobble cushions, and lap desks.
