Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have some really excellent students. These are urban and diverse students of the city of Chicago. Our charter school provides a well-rounded education with a focus on STEM for K- 11 students. They are motivated and really love to learn. They soak up everything I present to them like sponges.
I want to give these kids their best possible chance to learn.
They want to read, they are sweet and kind, and they even ask about doing extra work! I really think they deserve the best education that I can offer them. After school tutoring, clubs, constant weekly communication with parents, and quarterly conferences are some of the ways we ensure that everyone is involved and improving the education of our youth.
The "scholars" as we call them are well versed in the issues of politics, obstacles in their way, and hardships of the present time we live in. We as teachers push them beyond stereotypes and stigmas to help them reach their goals.
My Project
I want to engage my students in learning in a variety of ways. We have been working hard learning so many new things this year. As this school year comes to a close, the students are reviewing and reinforcing their skills. These materials will truly help the students during their center time.
The students are growing more independent with each passing day, but teamwork is still a vital skill.
These engaging games and activities will allow the students to be more motivated during both centers and independent work time. Please help my students finish the school year on a high note!
