What I love about my 8th grade students is their ability to manage their academic workload, extra curricular activities and their burgeoning adulthood. With all of these responsibilities and changes comes a tremendous amount of stress.
Adolescents yearn to have a voice and long for independence.
Flexible seating will promote a welcoming and more relaxed learning environment. Be it a beach chair, bean bag, or mat, students will be able to read literary masterpieces and construct their writing from the comfort of a seat that they choose!
My Project
Students will have the opportunity to work in a welcoming, stress-free environment with flexible seating options! Flexible seating allows students to move freely while focusing on the task at hand. When students have control of their environment, it becomes more personal and allows for ownership.
When students are comfortable, they are more alert, stay on task, and are productive.
Flexible seating allows the students to find and use their best way to be productive and focused throughout the class. If the students are comfortable, they are willing to learn and will enjoy it more.
Flexible seating allows the students to be more self-aware of the seating types and the environment in which they learn best.
