Engaging Students With Coding Critters

My Students

I teach in a rural school district where more than half the students in my K-3 building come from low income households. The 23 students in my second grade class ask great questions, often turning to technology in their pursuit of the answers. They believe they can learn anything!

Our school has a strong sense of community, and our teachers and staff believe every child can do great things if they are given the right tools and opportunity to learn and grow.

My Project

I recently completed a two-day workshop on how to use Bee-Bots and other Coding Critters to increase student learning in math, reading, and communication skills in a way that is both engaging and fun for my second graders.

By donating to purchase a set of Bee Bots for my class, you get to participate in encouraging my students to become problem solvers and helping them to learn "soft skills" like teamwork and perseverance.

I've already started creating the mats and other materials needed for this project, but its success depends on you to help fund the cost of purchasing the Bee-Bots.
