Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, motivated and thoughtful learners! The majority are ENLs from low-income families who come into our classrooms every day with the eagerness of becoming feature leaders, scientists, artists, etc.

They are big dreamers and believe that they can make a difference and achieve their goals if the support and the opportunity are given to them.

They love to read, write and draw, do the math and do hands-on and movement activities!

The majority of my students are English language learners and students with disabilities, who require exposures to the best educational experiences; therefore, hands-on and realia are a must in my classroom. Many of my students struggle to understand and grasp concepts and they need to be exposed to visual and concrete samples for them to get it.

Each student in my classroom is unique and it is my responsibility as their teacher to find the best and most effective way to help them achieve their potential. Every donation makes a difference in my students' lives. I look forward to creating projects that will make our classroom a joyful learning environment. Thank you!

My Project

The new iPads will bring the most modern, innovative technology for my students and parents. My students and parents will be able to use the iPads in all subject areas such as math, science, reading, writing, social studies, art, and more!

Critical thinking and high-paced, interactive learning is a valuable component in a first-grade classroom.

My first priority with the iPads would be to provide my parents with high-quality apps and websites that will engage and motivate their children to learn at home. During parent engagement time, I will train my parents on how to use technology at home to assist their children to learn.

The iPads would be amazing tools to have during parent engagement time. Parents and/or guardians will be introduced to and trained on how to use different educational apps that will help their children academically. Parents will learn how to research different topics, websites, and apps about animals, community helpers, weather, important figures in history, etc. Therefore, they will be able to enhance their children's academic performance by using technology wisely. Having these iPads available will also enhance and facilitate communication between parents and teachers/school through the Remind app.

I am always looking for ways to help parents get involved and help my students at home and for engaging ways to hook them into learning. Nonetheless, these iPads would help my English language learners listen to stories read to them and understand abstract concepts or ideas that they may not understand in English. Please help me provide my parents and students with iPads!
