My Students

Students today are so involved in video games and it is hard to keep their attention. I want to level the playing field with these computers.

I teach a wonderful group of 6-8th grade students who live in the heart of Appalachia.

They attend a rural, high poverty school in Kentucky that provides every student the opportunity to excel. However, we are limited in technology, which is the one thing that excites my students. I want them to have fun learning.

My Project

The materials I'm requesting include two HP Desktop computers. These materials will be used to reinforce and review language arts skills. IXL Language Arts is an online language arts program I would like for my students to experience with these desktops. I can present information, and students can practice a specific skill. Students will have the feel of game play all while learning language arts skills. One activity allows students to explore a passage, while using context clues to determine the meaning of words.

My classroom will be improved by adding this technology.

Students will be exposed to content in a fun and exciting way. They will be engaged while learning language arts skills. It will change the way my students learn. Please be a part of opening doors for my students and give the gift of technology.
