My Students
Imagine a life without the bare necessities; food, clothing, permanent shelter, and attention.
I teach second grade in a high-poverty, Title I, urban, elementary school.
Ninety-nine percent of students receive free lunch. Each student has their own individuality to the classroom this year and it will be a greater responsibility to make my "virtual classroom" into a community. I will do my best to support my virtual learners.
Despite their challenges, they come to school whether it is face to face or virtually each day for education, but mostly for a sense of purpose and unconditional love and acceptance. You might say they are, "Diamonds in the rough!" Pressured, yet passionate and priceless!
My Project
Due to COVID-19, students will be required to do virtual learning during the first semester. To supplement my virtual classroom, I would like to be able to provide the students with differentiated digital resources. Teachers pay teachers has an abundance of engaging/fun activities that will allow me to make students' virtual experience more personalized and to help them meet their individual need(s).
My hope is that through Donors Choose that donors will help me provide my Virtual Second Graders with Reading and Math activities and resources.
The desk will allow me to have a professional space to teach while I am not in the classroom.
