This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I honestly have some really great students who want to learn and do well but are struggling so much this year during the pandemic. There are so many challenges going on outside of school that would prevent my students from showing up to class even being remote but day after day they show up and try to do their best. They make me laugh, and ask about my life, they care about more than just themselves. I love my students.
My Project
This year has been a challenge for everyone but especially our students. Virtual learning is constantly changing and students as well as teachers are having to adapt on a regular basis. It is difficult for many students to stay engaged during these times and it has become increasingly difficult to adapt old lessons to this new setting. Students have expressed how challenging it is to stay focused and learn without being physically in the classroom.
This iPad and Apple Pencil will assist me in creating videos, planing new types of engaging lessons, and bringing biology to life for my students in a way that they are used to.
I will be able to model topics much easier as well as draw and write notes to help student engage and visualize concepts. Once back to in person learning or in a hybrid setting students will be able to use the iPad for in-person learning activities.
