Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in San Diego where all 1,000+ students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are fun-loving kids who strive to do their best and make a change to better their lives! All of my students are from a low, socioeconomic neighborhood, and many have parents who work two jobs to support their children.
However, my school holds our students to rigorous standards as we know that they are fully competent to reach them with the correct scaffolds, supports, and accommodations.
My goal is to improve the academic status of each child who enters my room!
My Project
Currently, the majority of students across the United States are learning from home. While this is difficult for most children, those who live in poverty are suffering the most. Many of my students live in overcrowded homes where they are all trying to simultaneously work and learn in one room.
By creating engaging lessons that help captivate their attention, teachers are able to overcome some of these obstacles.
An iPad Pro can help do just that by creating captivating and real-time lessons during distance learning. There are a multitude of applications that help elevate teaching.
My hope is to teach my students to the best of my capabilities during these hard times. With your help to boost the technology that I currently have access to, that hope can become a reality.
