This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a special education teacher in a low socioeconomic Title I school, all the students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. My class consists of 13 students. My kids are faced with many challenges in and outside the classroom. They are academically one to two years below grade level. Many of my students come from a single parent home. Although my kids have varying disabilities, (Learning Disabled, Autism, Emotional Disturbed, and Mentally Handicapped). They are eager to learn and succeed. I want to provide a atmosphere that is safe, and welcoming .Help me engage and inspire my students by becoming a partner in their learning.
My Project
My students are engaged and eager to complete their assignments when task is technology based .
Learning through technology gives my students a leveled playing field since we live in a technology based world.
And it's fun !!
Whether it's on a tablet or listening to a book on tape the student becomes responsible for their learning . It gives the student a feeling of freedom and independence
.
Having the student use the interactive whiteboard or listening center to complete the task fosters teamwork , engagement and fun
Use of a see reader helps the student focus on one sentence of the reader at a time.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
