My fourth graders are like my second family. They start the school year off as strangers, but end the year with a with a huge hug and a "see you later" , not "goodbye". Throughout the year they amaze me with their love for learning, their positive relationship building, and their outstanding character.
I do what I do, because of them!
I learn just as much from them each year as they learn from me. There really is no greater joy!
My Project
Each of my students learn a different way. One of my goals this year is to create more engaging lessons and letting the students learn by exploring. These items will help with the variety of different stations. A review game wouldn't be complete without buzzers to buzz in the correct answer. Talk about student engagement! The use of dry erase pockets, can help students practice, without writing directly on the paper. Having a tabletop dry erase board at my small group area, can really reach reluctant or struggling learners. Having lap desks in the classrooms allows students to work in groups while being able to comfortably write and work on assignments. It also promotes choice in the classroom, because they can choose whether they want a lap desk or a clipboard to work on the floor with!
Creating student engagement is necessary for growth!
