Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a speech-language pathologist in a middle school setting, my population consists of students with autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities and intellectual disabilities. We strive to create an inclusive environment for all with any materials they might need. Being that majority of my students are also English Language Learners that require many visuals and videos to help them learn and comprehend the speech lessons, the iPad will allow me to better reach their needs.
Many of my students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners who enjoy learning and seeing new information displayed across multiple modalities.My students have put in strong effort to continue learning through my google meets and google classroom.
My Project
Having access to an iPad and Pencil will allow me to better support my students receiving speech services who are visual learners. While in school I have access to a SMART board which allows me to annotate, draw, and create diagrams for students to interact with.
An iPad and Apple Pencil will allow me to help tailor each student's individual need.
I would be able to use Apps such as Jam Board during my Google Meets to annotate readings, fill out graphic organizers, and draw visuals. I also create documents for each student depending on their learning style, and having access the an iPad and Pencil will make this process of doing this a lot easier.
