This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach NGSS Biology and since we are in distant learning students will not be able to do labs in the classroom environment. I wish to make Biology as fun and engaging as possible under these circumstances.

I have learned of a digital learning solution that offers a new approach to laboratory education for high school students.

It allows students to engage in science and engineering practices in any learning environment without access to supplies or equipment.Because the lab solutions are online, they are ideal for remote learning.

My students are so eager to get back to the classroom and so in the meantime I would love to give them lessons that they will be excited about. Kids really want to learn and they have the ability to take in a lot more than we think and so I want to provide challenging and interesting ways for them to discover science.

My Project

My students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in science. Science is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like science and practice it every day. While we are in distant learning, we are not able to do hands on labs and we we get back these will be great pre-labs for my students..

Science2Go: Biology includes ten labs on topics including photosynthesis, ecosystems, respiration, mitosis, and diffusion and osmosis.

The labs are aligned to the NGSS and other state science standards and can be used with our textbook curriculum. Labs can be accessed on any internet-capable device and can be completed in 30-45 minutes.

It is a great alternative to learning labs and staying in line with equity issues that I fully support. Students are eager to learn and should have every opportunity in do so even during a pandemic. Help me to support my students
