My Students

I am lucky to teach 19 wonderful kindergarten students in a small, rural community in Florida. My school is a Title I school, with 100% of students receiving free breakfast and lunch. Despite the challenges that my students face outside of the classroom, they are hard working and eager to learn each and every day. From the minute they walk in my door, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. My students are what drive me every single day to not only be a better person but to be a better teacher.

My Project

My students love to work in centers. It is their favorite part of the day! In centers, students are given an opportunity to explore while discussing their thoughts and discoveries with other students. The science viewers, file folder games, bug discovery kit, and various science puzzles will help reinforce the skills and standards taught during lessons in a fun and exciting way. Students will learn about animals and their young, insects/bugs, the Earth, and other important science concepts while using these materials.

Centers are an important part of helping my students explore and grow.

With these new centers, my students will be able to apply the knowledge that they learn during instructional time to center time and would be an incredible addition to our classroom.
