This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This summer we are adding a new program to our summer school that will focus on students with refugee status. These books are part of an engaging program that incorporates social and emotional lessons with lessons that celebrate student's cultures and identities.

With these books, teachers will be able to provide students with a summer experience that not only meets student's academic needs but also what their hearts need.

The Lotus Seed will be a part of a unit celebrating families and cultures from around the world. Return to Sender is for our older students. It tells the story of a family who moves and faces many hardships that immigrants face every day when coming to the United States.
