My Project
When I ask my students what they would like to read, the most requested genre is graphic novels. Written like long comic books, graphic novels are accessible for my students who are practicing readers with relevant topics and engaging storylines while still being enjoyable and relatable to my students who are strong readers. They're great for everyone! When we have our book circles, students ask to read graphic novels instead of chapter books. While our classroom library has various single copies, we don't have multiple copies of the same book so a group of students can read them together.
Your donation will help me offer my readers the opportunity to choose something that interests them in a format they love and have been asking for.
After some time to browse through these amazing titles, each student will choose a book that interests them. We will meet in book groups once a week with half of our session reading with each other and the other half practicing reading strategies, sharing answers to discussion questions, and growing our love of reading.
