Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is a low income school that receives free and reduced price lunch as well as food sent home daily. I have students with many different backgrounds from single parents, homeless students and financially struggling families.
Despite their troubles at home, they still come to school everyday and work hard while they are here.
They are very sweet, eager to learn and try to be good, helpful people everyday! Our students and their families mean the world to our school and we are so lucky to have them.
My Project
I am a third year teacher, so I currently do not have a ton of math manipulatives. We are getting ready to start our math centers and I want these to be exciting and fun for my students! I want to continue their love and interest in learning and playing.
We are looking for hands-on, engaging, FUN math tools to help us learn to count and problem solve!
Students will get a chance to play and learn every single day with these new class tools! These tools will help us with our number sense, counting, measuring, building and much more! We are interested in having counters to make pattens, decks of cards and dice to build number sense, measuring tools and Magna-Tiles for building.
