My Project
In the beautiful Hawaiian islands, teachers are working hard to provide targeted instruction to preschool students in the low income area where I work. Besides being low income, up to 30% of my students do not have English as their first language. In addition, there are 8 students with special learning needs including autism.
I strive to make their experiences with letters and numbers fun.
The snap on letters and numbers as well as the alphabet locks will encourage a good feeling about these, especially for students who don't have much experience with books, letters and number activities at home. The paint and tissue paper provide art activities that help make my. students want to come to school and learn.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
