My Project

I would love to help my students build upon their social emotional skills. In order to do so, I would use the feelings anchor chart, Spot emotion kit, and other calming tools (rain sticks, fidgets, mirror with pictures of emotions). My littles thrive with positive reinforcement. I would love to be able to build upon the social emotional skills. They are eager to learn, help one another, and a very loving group of kiddos. Building a classroom reward system to reinforce and celebrate positive behaviors, while ensuring every child is acknowledged and celebrated is very important to me.

Social emotional skills are a huge part of the pre-k standards and are essential to teaching 3-5 year olds as they are developing and constantly learning from their environment and those around them.

I adopted this classroom when I started teaching two years ago and would love to add some engaging and enticing toys such as the magnetic tiles and blocks and marble tower. My students will be thrilled to learn how to play with their new toys and have fun exploring them while practicing sharing, strengthening their fine motor skills, and learning by using their imagination to build and play. My first goal is to make my classroom feel welcoming and comforting for my students with various tools to help them with their social emotional learning. I want them to learn positive coping strategies and how to identify their feelings. My second goal is to implement a classroom reward system to reinforce and reward good choices and motivate them to stay safe and use positive coping strategies (i.e. using their words and sharing instead of hitting and throwing toys). My third goal is to provide them with an enticing and engaging environment by adding educational, yet fun learning materials and toys.
