Engaging our School Community in Thinking About Civil Rights

Help me give my students , members of the Civil Rights Team, a way to spread their message that everyone is welcome and belongs at our school, through using the Button Maker Machine and creating buttons for students.

My Project

Our Civil rights team wants to make buttons to share messages of welcome, inclusivity, and civil rights related content with our middle school students, staff, and parents.

This will help our mission to make ALL students and staff feel safe and welcome at our school, visible to students, staff, families, and the greater Lisbon and Lisbon Falls community, as students will be wearing their buttons in school and around the community.

Our Civil Rights team will also benefit by making pins that can be sold to raise money for the team and school to more widely spread the word that people of all races and skin colors, disabilities, religions, ancestries, gender, including gender identity and expression, and sexual orientations should feel safe and welcome at the PWSMS.
