We live in Ketchikan, an island in Southeast Alaska. In our classroom we are always moving and doing to learn new skills. We are an active group who love to learn. Our two favorite parts of the day are when we can make choices of how we are going to learn and when we have time to build.
My students need support with fine motor.
We struggle to engage in activities such as cutting because it can be hard for us.
When students come into the classroom we have about 15 minutes for morning work. Students come in at different times and have a hard time jumping into a whole group activity. These materials will help us create tubs that we can use every day that students can join in to learn right when they walk in the door. Students can select to work independently or with a group to engage in a learning task. It also starts our day with fun and engaging learning/teamwork.
These Magna-tiles, building bricks, Unifix cubes, the pretend cash register, Link 'N' Learn Links, origami paper, and other supplies will help us get engaged to work on concepts we are currently learning, review concepts we already know, and work on specific tasks such as fine motor that we may not have time to work on in class whole group.
