This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

While I have been teaching for 7 years, the 2024-25 school year will be my first time teaching math and science, along with reading and writing. I am thrilled to embark on this journey as a new math teacher. My goal is to create an engaging and interactive learning environment where students can explore mathematical concepts in a hands-on way. To achieve this goal, I am seeking support for essential tools like dry erase boards and math manipulatives.

With dry erase boards, students can quickly sketch diagrams, work out equations, and share their thought processes with peers.

These boards promote active participation and allow for immediate feedback, fostering a dynamic learning experience.

In addition to dry erase boards, math manipulatives are essential for concrete, visual, and tactile learning experiences. Manipulatives such as geometric shapes, counting cubes, and fraction tiles provide students with hands-on opportunities to explore mathematical concepts. By manipulating these objects, students can deepen their understanding of abstract ideas and develop critical problem-solving skills.

As a teacher, I am committed to fostering a positive and enriching learning experience for my students.
