This will be my first year teaching third grade, but my fourth year at this wonderful school. I have had the opportunity to teach some of my incoming students for two years prior in kindergarten and 1st grade. The students and families at Lucas school are amazing. I am looking forward to working with the students in this exceptional, smart, hardworking, and funny class again this year and meeting their diverse learning needs. Building on their prior knowledge and learning experiences, while utilizing a creative, hands-on, engaging classroom learning environment will help me challenge these students to reach their highest learning potential.
My Project
Research states that providing a flexible, nurturing learning environment full of diverse learning materials increases student engagement and learning outcomes. Third grade math standards require students to know and apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. Using math manipulates and games allow students to learn individualy and in small and large groups using engaging, hands on activities to build math skills and engagement. The resources requested will allow me to provide a comfortable learning environment for all students, as well as provide a variety of materials and manipulates to meet the diverse learning needs and styles of my students. As this is my first year in this grade level, your donation will help to build my classroom learning environment for future students to benefit.
