This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students, ages three to five and a half years old, are part of an inclusive pre-kindergarten environment. They live in a multicultural city and for this reason, they are very diverse. They are diverse not only in their cultures and ethnic backgrounds, but also in their physical, cognitive, behavioral and emotional learning abilities. Our school is part of a Title One district where at least seventy-five percent of students qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

My students' love for learning always amazes me.

They are curious and eager to learn new ideas through play-based, multi-sensory, hands-on activities. As a teacher, I am constantly striving to provide new materials and experiences that will allow them to grow in all areas of development. My ultimate goal is to provide a solid educational foundation and instill with them a lifetime love for learning.

My Project

As we continue distance learning, my goal is to create virtual learning experiences that are fun and engaging. The shape, color, emotions, picture, rhyming, letter and number magnets will allow us to play fun virtual games while learning important concepts. In addition to serving as a base for these magnets, the Magnetic Write and Wipe board will allow me to teach print concepts and write messages, words, letters, numbers and pictures for my students. The Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree and alphabet launch games will allow me to bring learning to life and provide extra excitement for my young learners. Having access to these educational materials in my home will allow me to create a virtual learning environment that is rich and meaningful. I am confident the materials requested in this project will capture my young students' attention and allow them to acquire several math and literacy skills.
