Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my students tell me that school is there favorite place to be! I hope to keep it that way by providing students with stimulating ELA and Math center opportunities! We desperately need more developmentally appropriate resources for our students to use during their center time. I want them to be able to develop fine motor skills while also exploring mathematical and literacy concepts in a play-based atmosphere. I believe this is where the seed of passion is planted for a love of learning- in Kindergarten.
When my students see materials such as Learn to Count Dough Mats, I know they will be giddy with excitement to play and learn.
This also helps with their motivation for good attendance, as they will want to come to school every day, and anticipate the fun they will have while learning!
