My Students
Our school is filled with students from all over the world who are ready to learn! PMES has students from 43 different countries, who use up to 20 different languages. We have full-time translators who help our families who speak Spanish, Kurdish, Arabic, and Somalian. My classroom is a mix of refugees and migrants, and we are on a mission to provide equitable access to education of all subjects, regardless of language levels! By connecting my students to technology and relevant literature, my students will be able to make great academic and social emotional gains.
My Project
Because of a lack of access to technology in our classroom, it is difficult to provide my students with engaging and beneficial technology experiences that will help further their learning.
I am aiming to provide my students with tablets that will allow them to develop essential math skills while increasing family engagement.
These tablets will give my students a chance to individually explore and solidify math concepts using high quality math-apps (ex: Khan Academy, Quick Math) . Additionally, students will be able to use these tablets to take pictures of their work and share with their families (ex: Seesaw). Families will have the opportunity to see what their child is learning in the classroom, and interact with the students about their work in real-time!
