This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is full of enthusiastic, bilingual students who are eager to learn and do their best. By using engaging manipulatives, our students will have hours of magical learning!

At our school, the majority of the students are English Language Learners from low-income families.

I am humbled and amazed by how resilient these children are. Our classroom is a home away from home for my students. I strive to make the classroom as inviting and engaging as possible. My students benefit most from structure, routine, as well as a hands-on learning approach.

My Project

Imagine how my students will react when it is time to complete centers! During our daily literacy block students go to various centers where we will use these manipulatives to learn about word work, writing, phonics, and much more. Students will have the opportunity to select from the CVC Word Work Center, Phonemic Awareness Match-Ups, Contractions match-ups, Reading and Writing Skills Folder Games, or the big books which will be displayed in the book rack. As math time approaches, students will learn by using the Math Folder Games. These games will enhance students' knowledge of numbers and operations, measurement, geometry and basic math facts. With all of these valuable resources, we will be able to grow and expand our knowledge in reading, writing, and math! As second graders, they learn best through the use of manipulatives and visuals. These are all essential tools we need in our classroom to be successful learners.

Donating to our classroom will help us grow to become better learners and students!

We believe that by working with our classmates and using manipulatives really enhances our learning. Students do not have access to these materials, or even books, at home so building a strong foundation for literacy and math in the classroom will directly benefit our class.
