My Students
My students love to learn and like to participate in a variety of learning activities! Our school is classified as Title I and we celebrate our students and their diverse backgrounds.
The students in my class like to socialize and collaborate while working on their projects and assignments.
They enjoy learning from each other and are supportive when someone needs help with a concept or skill. They have developed grit as they have worked through the challenges of the pandemic.
My Project
This project has two purposes: Math and Literature. The items in this project will support students as they build their understanding of mathematical concepts. Having hands-on materials, whiteboards, and technology for the teacher to model concepts are helpful so they can make mathematical connections between representations and abstract thinking. Because of the pandemic, students have some gaps in their learning. Using hands-on materials helps fill those gaps and support their achievement and success in math.
Studying novels together builds shared experiences.
Providing positive and shared experiences in the classroom helps students identify with each other and make connections. Having diverse books in the classroom library, as well as engaging class novels to study, gives our class opportunities to build common experiences.
