My Students
My kindergarten students are always eager to learn, explore, and create. They know that in my classroom they are a part of a learning community that looks out for one another and that they are safe to make mistakes. They enjoy hands on experiences and having materials to use that they can call their own. They take pride in their work and always try their best.
My Project
By providing my classroom and students with these materials, you will be helping create life-long learners! Items such as the mini play dohs, bouncy balls, variety pack of prizes, bubbles, etc. will be used in our class treasure box to incentivize students to be respectful, responsible, and safe at school. These prizes will also encourage kids to work hard at home AND at school when using Lexia and iReady. There are many ways to keep my kiddos engaged, but Friday treasure box is one of their faves!
Additionally, many of these items will be used to enrich my science lessons.
I look forward to planting flowers with my students in the spring using the clear cups so that they can make observations about all the parts of a plant, even the roots growing under the soil. The spray bottles will be used to water the flowers we are growing. The magnet tiles and chalk will be used with a few different shadow lessons taught throughout February and March.
There are also a few items that I'd love to have as a teacher to better prepare materials for my students to use! The book binding machine will be helpful in creating custom notebooks and journals for my students to write and color in. The white out and paper, simply for making copies and correcting errors. The printer ink to ensure that I can print original materials in my classroom. Tape, to be able to repair rips and tears on student work.
Finally, I am looking forward to trying something new and celebrating Chinese New Year with my class! The decorations and books, along with the collaboration with one of my students families has me really looking forward to creating this new learning opportunity for my students and myself!
