My Project
When you walk into my classroom you will see bright, energetic students engaging enthusiastically in activities designed to make them better readers and writers. You will see students working in groups to analyze the meaning of a poem. You will see hands thrust in the air, eager to share ideas about characters and authors' creative choices. You will hear the buzz of learning. The building blocks of these engaging lessons and activities are quality, tactile tools and learning materials. Learning materials are important because they can significantly increase student achievement by supporting student learning. Whether its craft paper that students can use when we make poetry portfolios in the spring, or clipboards students need when we do gallery walks of final projects, kids learn best when they're engaged, and are most engaged when they have great learning materials at their disposal.
