This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Transitioning back to in person learning from online has not been an easy shift. Students were used to being on the computer in any seating position they chose, and now being back in a classroom desk can prove challenging at times for young learners. With these flexible seating options, students will have the freedom to choose a non-traditional seating option when collaboratively learning. Rather than just sitting on a chair or a floor, students can wobble or sit at a floor desk: a seating arrangement that engages their body and their mind.
Flexible seating offers students the ability to be at ease when learning, allowing their mind to be fully engaged with the task at hand.
When online learning, students could not be rewarded for their efforts in an extrinsic manner, so I am also providing students an opportunity to celebrate their success with a treasure box. Students will have a tangible token of their success, with the rewards such as the pop its and little animals, showing students that their effort and perseverance matters.
The nonfiction books, flexible seating options, and reward items will allow my students to see their learning success from beginning to end!
