Our school in Anchorage, Alaska embraces an open-optional philosophy. Children are encouraged to become lifelong learners by providing child-centered instruction responsive to the unique interests and needs of each child. We empower children to be responsible for their own learning and encourage children to think independently to help them grow into self-directed, responsible adults.
At my program we are passionate about helping the "whole-child" develop.

My Project
These engaging materials will allow my students to have many different activities to choose from during center and small group time. For example, the math folder games library and the reading and writing folder games library will allow the students the opportunity to choose hands-on game based learning choices. Currently in our classroom I don't have as many different options for students to choose from during center and small group time as I would like to offer. I want my students to be able to pick the games or activities to help foster a love for learning and an atmosphere of high engagement. When students have more choice and get to pick what they are doing, it often leads to more enthusiastic participation. Please help my amazing students foster a love for learning one game at a time!
