My Students
Our 2nd grade classroom is full of eager and enthusiastic learners! These students are from Queens, NY and greatly lack materials. These students come from a low income area where they lack resources. Our diverse learners range widely in academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Students work on academics and with the right resources all students can receive the same quality education as other students in other areas across the country.
Basic supplies are essential in elementary school to ensure we are providing the same engaging and enriching education for all students. My students deserve to have their own supplies, and enjoy school by accessing quality markers, colored pencils, and other basic supplies that most students come into school with. Each year a supplies list is sent out to the parents, and unfortunately majority of our students are unable to come into school with their supplies. When students receive their own supplies they have a sense of ownership, and enjoyment in taking care of their own materials for school.
My Project
After the past year, all students are coming back to school, and we need some resources in our classroom such as a pencil sharpener for our eager writers! We also are asking for a Presentation Easel to make teaching and presenting a little easier. Some other resources we are looking to get for our Second Graders are wobble chairs, and a prize spin wheel for our classroom to be a little more engaging as the students come back to school!
This will be one of the toughest years ahead of us as many students did not participate in remote learning.
After over a year at home, students are coming back to school full time. What better way to come to school than to come to a fun, engaging, and exciting classroom to make learning a little easier. We are thrilled to have a full class for this coming year, please help us make it exciting.
