Engaging Engineering Opportunities

My students need items that will provide hands-on, engineering opportunities. The Ozobot, for example, gives students a chance to practicing coding skills.

My Students

My third graders come eager to learn each day, despite some of the challenges they face. My students represent a diverse group of children from all different backgrounds, socioeconomic levels, and languages spoken at home.

As both a Title One and magnet school, we are constantly trying to think of innovative ways to engage our students and provide our students with experiences they may not encounter otherwise.

We have amazing teachers, families, and students at our school who would greatly appreciate your support in their journey to become great engineers!

My Project

As a magnet school, we are constantly trying to think of ways to be innovative and provide students with hands-on experiences that require collaboration and use the Design Process.

Our students respond well to hands-on, problem solving activities.

When thinking about how to create these opportunities within the classroom, I came across some items that provided students with the opportunity to wonder, explore, create, and lead (our school's mission statement).

The Ozobot gives students a chance to learn about coding, both through the use of colored markers and online programs that sync with the bot. With many of the items in my project, students will be able to work together to create items that they will then be able to test and explore further, such as the marble run. Our students would by so appreciative of these engineering activities.
