My Project

This project will help refresh our classroom library with engaging, grade-level–appropriate books that meet the needs of all learners. As a first-year teacher, I am working to create a welcoming reading environment where students feel excited and confident choosing books on their own. Many of the books currently on our shelves were left from previous teachers and, while they help fill the space, many are outdated or not at the appropriate reading level for my students. Adding new texts will allow students to build reading stamina, improve comprehension, and develop a genuine love for reading. These books will be used daily during independent reading, small groups, and whole-class lessons, making a lasting impact on my students throughout the year.
