My Project
We love books in our classroom! We read for a half hour every day. Without our independent reading time, my students feel unfulfilled. Books transport us to new worlds and give us new dreams to chase. "A book is a dream you hold in your hand," Neil Gaiman.
"Once upon a time lasts forever," Philip Pullman.
My students need a vibrant, modern and engaging classroom library. It takes new books to stay excited with reading, and these graphic novels are going to do the trick! There are so many books for my amazing group of 4th and 5th grade readers, including "Mabuhay," "ChupaCarter," "Link and Hud" (all three are examples of books with diverse protagonists, written by Own Voices authors) and the, much awaited, newest Amulet (number 9)--a modern classic. There are a lot of books in this project; with over 20 books, there has to be something for everyone.
