Engaging and Supporting First Graders in Math and Language Arts
Help me give my students math and language arts support! Covid has created unique circumstances in which to educate students and I want to support my students learning with engaging, varied and fun instruction.
This school year I have a classroom full of first grade students who are so excited to learn, despite the tricky circumstances of a pandemic! As their teacher, I love figuring out tools to engage them in their learning.
Creating a classroom that is supportive, while challenging my students to learn at their highest potential, is so rewarding.
My students surprise me every single day with their resilience, passion, and curiosity for learning. I feel so lucky to be their teacher!
My Project
Teaching a lifelong passion for learning while students are in my classroom is my greatest goal. That intrinsic drive to learn is so important to cultivate and nurture in my young students. Creating situations, lessons, and an environment where they feel safe and supported in trying hard, making mistakes and ultimately learning is what I strive for each day.
Providing my students with a range of tools, including literature, math manipulatives, and language art supports will allow them the opportunity to learn in a variety of ways in conjunction with the variety of COVID guidelines.
My students will be able to independently show their learning through the classroom supports in this project. I'm looking forward to using them in both small group and whole-group settings. I'm also excited about the literature that I will use to reinforce lessons.
