As a teacher of a Title I school, my students are faced with many challenges outside of the classroom. In 2016, our community was terrorized by a 1,000 year flood. Many of my students lost their homes and all of their personal belongings. Some of these students are still feeling the impact of this flood today. Fast forward to 2020, and we are facing a worldwide pandemic of COVID-19. These same students are now tasked with learning to live a new normal with tight restrictions in classroom and virtual settings.
Despite the fear and uncertainty students are currently facing, they are rising to the challenge!
My students know what it means to struggle. I want to be able to provide them with a learning experience that is fun, engaging, and stress-free.
My Project
It is very important that students develop an excitement and love for learning at an early age. Lower elementary students still love to play teacher made games in class.
These Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards will help me purchase fun, pre-made activities that are already set up for digital learning platforms.
I will be able to purchase exciting digital resources that will help my students further their knowledge in literacy and math subjects.
Literacy and math resources that will be purchased will allow virtual students to complete interactive activities much like what will be done in class. These gift cards will help me foster the love of learning even when students are learning from home.
