My Students
I teach 9th Grade Physical Science to amazing and inspiring students. At our school, our mission is to provide a college-preparatory learning experience with a focus on individual freedom, critical thinking, and problem solving in an environment that emphasizes the values of community, teamwork, and nonviolence.Our students, mostly from Wilmington and surrounding areas, can and do achieve at high levels. Most aspire to go to college and we do everything we can to help them succeed there and in the future. My students love to work hands on in the science lab and are full of questions. Every day is an exciting new day with my students, who are the sweetest and funniest kids I know.
My Project
With all of our teaching and learning fully virtual, this project will give me the resources to give students a truly full experience while learning online. Technology is a barrier in great teaching online, and these materials will help ensure that I am able to give students the experience they deserve. These resources will allow me to provide better lessons and materials for my students. It is challenging creating engaging and interactive lessons in a fully virtual setting. With these new resources, a desktop and Teachers Pay Teachers funding, I will have better access to technology that will support me in creating the engaging lessons my students deserve. I will have the technology to run the programs necessary to teach my students to the best of my ability. Teachers Pay Teachers is a great resource when it comes to creating interactive lessons. This project allows me to better connect and engage with my students in ways that will make learning more tangible and effective. My goal is that with these new resources, my students will be more engaged in the lesson and excited to complete their homework and classwork.
A Lenovo Desktop and a TPT gift card, will ensure that the materials and lessons that I prepare for my students are of the highest quality.
Every day, our students spend about three hours learning through Zoom at our school. Further, I spend many more hours preparing high quality materials and plans to deliver these lessons. A new desktop and a TPT gift card will allow me to work more efficiently when crafting virtual lessons for my students. While virtual learning is no replacement for in-person learning, these additional resources will help me by making it easier to deliver and prepare great lessons.
