Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is located in Concord, California in a low-income community. Students come from diverse backgrounds and cultures and all bring unique aspects to the school. A majority of the students are English language learners. About 90% of the students who attend this school receive free or reduced-price lunches.
My Project
My students love to read. I want to give my students more books that will catch their attention and keep fostering their love for reading. These new books will add more options for my students to choose from.
This project will help give my students new books to help update my classroom library.
Books open new worlds for my student to encounter and I want to give them books that they want to read. My students are interested in a variety of different books and I want to update my classroom library to give them books they like to read.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
