This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

On rainy days when we can’t go outside for recess, fun board games, origami paper, noise canceling headphones for silent reading and other activities help make staying inside exciting. Playing games like Sorry!, Connet4!, or Blokus are great for my 5th graders to stay engaged. They will get to make smart moves, solve problems, and challenge ourselves—all while playing with friends. Making origami is also a fun way to stay busy. Folding paper into animals, flowers, or cool designs helps us focus, follow directions, and feel proud of what we create.

These activities also help us work together and build friendships.

Whether we’re helping someone fold a tricky origami shape or teaming up to win a board game, we practice kindness, teamwork, and good communication. It’s a great way to learn how to take turns, share ideas, and cheer each other on. Even when it’s raining outside, these games and activities help us stay happy, creative, and connected with our classmates.
