Help me give my students hands-on and engaging supports and materials to help them be successful!
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Mick's classroom raised $658
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students with significant disabilities often struggle to retain information, self-regulate, or use functional skills. It is because of these struggles that this group of students requires intensive, individualized, instructional supports to access content and skills.
That is where our Alternate Standards Program comes in: we support students through a wide range of strategies so that they can be included in all activities and be as successful as possible.
The cuddle ball will be used to support student self-regulation and sensory needs.
The sensory tent will be used to provide a safe space for students to deescalate when upset.
The calendar set will be used to teach daily routines to my students.
The Velcro dots will be used to create interactive visual schedules and other tactile supports around the classroom.
The snap addition set will be used to teach addition skills to my students in a hands-on manner.
The timers will be used to regulate time windows and add structure to routines. The batteries will be used to power the timers.
The sentence building activity will be used to support communication skills.
The letter and number tracing sets will be used to teach fine motor skills and letter/number understanding.
The writing tablets will be used to promote fine motor skills and writing practice.
With the materials and hands-on supports in this DonorsChoose, our students will be able to support their own learning, skills, and regulation!
